Ingredients
- 2¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp fine salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Whisk flour, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream butter and sugar (2–3 minutes). Beat in egg and vanilla.
- Mix in dry ingredients on low just until combined. Divide the dough; wrap it and chill for 1 hour.
- Roll to ¼-inch thickness. Cut rounds with cookie cutters; transfer to a lined sheet.
- Chill the trays for 10 minutes, then bake at 350°F for 10–11 minutes, or until the edges are set. Cool completely before icing.
