Ingredients
- 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp ground ginger
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- ¼ tsp ground clove
- 1 tsp baking soda
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup molasses
- Granulated sugar (for rolling)
- Cranberry jam or preserves (for filling)
Instructions
- Whisk dry ingredients. Cream butter and brown sugar; beat in egg and molasses.
- Mix in dry ingredients on low. Scoop 1-Tbsp balls, roll in sugar, and place on sheets.
- Bake at 350°F for 8–9 minutes.
- While warm, press a shallow “well” (thumb or back of measuring spoon). Cool; fill with jam.
